Away from the constant hustle and bustle of the center of the capital, the so-called “park district” is a privileged area of Santiago thanks to its low population density and its extensive green areas that include large natural landscapes such as Mahuida Park, Cordillera Park or Padre Hurtado Park (former Intercomunal); the latter, an important point of interest and shared with the commune of Las Condes.
And unlike the rest of the communes of Santiago, La Reina has low-rise buildings, added to that semi-urban character, it is a great attraction if you are looking to live in a more peaceful environment within the big city.
The commune of La Reina is divided in two by a symbolic border: La Reina Alta and La Reina Baja. The first is located closer to the foothills of the Andes and is inhabited mainly by wealthy families. The second, adjacent to the commune of Ñuñoa to the west, is a more traditional area, with more commerce and a lot of neighborhood life.
