San Miguel is one of those communes of Santiago that has had a great urban development in recent years, becoming part of the areas that have significantly improved their quality of life.
Many Santiago residents choose to live here because of its proximity to the historic center of the capital (15 minutes by subway) and also because of the diversity of residential areas, multiple squares and small green areas that are part of this commune in the southern sector of Santiago.
Although it has access to the Central Highway to access other places in Santiago, San Miguel is a commune with all the services to live and work: shopping centers, schools, universities and hospitals.
The street art and the “picadas” to eat delicious and cheap food are also part of the attractions of San Miguel.
San Miguel Neighborhoods
There is a good contrast of neighborhoods in this area of southern Santiago. While some of them maintain the tranquility of the residential areas, others, those closest to the Gran Avenida José Miguel Carrera, offer a good range of services and commerce.
